Tools and Hardware Reviews of PortaMate PM7002 Set of Machine Mounts for PM3900, PM4000, PM4400, PM5000, PM6000, PM6300 and PM7000 Miter Saw Work CentersCustomer Review: good and fragile Summary: 4 Stars
the unit works just fine. I was supprised how firmly they could hold a 12 inch miter saw.
I did notice a small problem, they are very fragile. One got knocked off the workbench and
the black plastic arm which you use to attach or release the mount broke. It fell about 40
inches not all that far really. Except for the one that broke,I am very happy with this
product.

Customer Review: PortaMate PM7002 Machine Mounts Summary: 4 Stars
You cannot really write a review for this product without talking about the PortaMate PM7000 HTC PM7000 Portamate Miter Saw & Power Tool Work Center, a product I am very happy with. The extra machine mounts allow me to have additional bench mounted tools at the ready for mounting on my PortaMate.
Customer Review: PortaMate Machine Mounts Summary: 4 Stars
Extends the versatility of the PortaMate. Ideal for anyone who has a small shops with limited bench space or takes their tools to the job site.
Customer Review: Adds flexibility to my shop Summary: 3 Stars
These mounts fit both my Makita 10" sliding miter saw and my Delta benchtop planer, allowing me to swap them out as needed. The only downsides are the plastic end caps occasionally pop off and I suspect they are made in China.
Another reviewer mentioned HTC being out of business. Out of curiosity, I called the toll free # on their website (www.htcproductsinc.com) and got a a normal "regular business hours" message (called at 22:30 EAS). Does this mean they're in business? Who knows, but at least the phone isn't disconnected.
If you have more than one tool that could be used on your PortaMate, I recommend picking up a set of these for each, as it sure speeds tool setup and tear down.
Customer Review: Offset mounting kit is unavailable Summary: 1 Stars
HTC seems to have gone out of business. The phone number listed in the product manual and on their web site are no longer in service. If your tool as offset holes (not in straight line) the you need kit J-104 that allegedly can be ordered from HTC. However, the number has been disconnected. This is unfortunate because I really wanted the PM7000 but this little snafu severely decreases the products versatility. I wonder how long these mounts will be available?
